Each year the Blue Vault Alts Summit selects topflight speakers to help advisors and broker-dealers better understand the universe of alternative investments. Kitces is best known as the Chief Financial Planning Nerd at Kitces.com, dedicated to advancing knowledge in financial planning and helping to make financial advisors better and more successful.
Kitces is also Head of Planning Strategy at Buckingham Wealth Partners, an independent RIA with more than $50 billion of assets under management, that provides private wealth management to consumers and turnkey asset management platform services to advisors.
The self-styled “financial advicer” has a long list of graduate degrees and designations — MSFS, MTAX, CFP®, CLU, ChFC, RHU, REBC, and CASL — to match his enthusiasm for helping clients advance their careers. We expect that Kitces’s enthusiasm, along with his expansive skillset and alts knowledge, will encourage Summit 2025 attendees to explore the limitless possibilities that alternative investments offer.
A Life of Learning
From hacking his own video games on the Commodore 64 as a young person to studying theater, medicine, and psychology in college, Kitces’s love of continuing education and learning has always been his lodestar. After discovering the world of investing via a pit stop in insurance and annuities, Kitces went on to launch the educational newsletter for financial planners called The Kitces Report, followed by the popular Nerd’s Eye View blog.
His website also offers webinars and other resources, some of which provide instant access to on-demand CFP CE credits. He’s also the founder of the Kitces Consulting Consortium, which works with asset managers and other vendors looking for new ways to connect with advisors. He’s launched multiple podcasts too. And that’s just scratching the surface! Kitces is undoubtedly the advisory industry’s number-one nerd, with 20 years of experience as a financial advisor and over 700 professional speaking events under his belt.

For three days in mid-March of next year, Frisco, TX, will become the center of the alts industry universe, bringing together asset managers, advisors, and the knowledgeable Blue Vault team.
