InPoint Commercial Real Estate Income, Inc. has reduced its gross monthly common-stock distribution from $0.1042 to $0.026 per share, a decrease of approximately 75%. The new rate applies to stockholders of record on September 30, 2026, with payment expected on or about October 19. Distributions received by some share classes will be lower after applicable stockholder servicing fees.
In a September 11 letter, InPoint told stockholders that its prior distribution level was not sufficiently aligned with current portfolio earnings and cash flow generation. The board and management said the lower rate better reflects the portfolio’s earnings capacity and forecasted cash flows.
The company said it has resumed originating loans as lending markets have begun to stabilize and is selectively deploying capital while repositioning legacy investments. Those efforts have not changed its assessment that the former distribution rate was too high for the portfolio’s current cash flows.
InPoint also said its board and management have accelerated their evaluation of options to enhance stockholder value and improve liquidity. They intend to engage an investment bank to explore potential strategic transactions, portfolio-level solutions, and other alternatives. The letter did not announce a transaction or specify a timetable or outcome.
For advisors and stockholders, the distribution reduction is an immediate change to the income generated by common shares, while the strategic review remains preliminary. InPoint’s common shares do not have an established trading market, and its share repurchase plan remains suspended.
