Blue Owl’s latest shareholder updates highlight an important distinction for advisors: a fund’s repurchase limit and the percentage of an investor’s request fulfilled are different measures.
In updates filed October 2, 2026, Blue Owl Credit Income Corp. (OCIC) and Blue Owl Technology Income Corp. (OTIC) reported preliminary third-quarter repurchase requests exceeding their respective 5% tender offers.
What the Updates Show
OCIC reported approximately $3.1 billion in requests, representing 16.8% of shares outstanding, down from 18.8% the previous quarter. It expects its offer to fulfill approximately 30% of shares tendered.
OTIC reported approximately $1.1 billion in requests, representing 39.0% of shares outstanding, compared with 38.1% the previous quarter. It expects its offer to fulfill approximately 13% of shares tendered.
Request percentages use shares outstanding as of June 30, 2026. Both funds stated that their 5% tender offers would be fulfilled on a pro rata basis. Request figures are preliminary and subject to adjustment; expected fulfillment percentages are approximate.
What the 5% Limit Means
The 5% describes the size of the fund’s offer relative to its outstanding shares. It does not describe the percentage of each investor’s holdings that will necessarily be repurchased.
When requests exceed the offer, pro rata allocation reduces the portion of each valid request accepted. The different request levels help explain why these two offers have different expected fulfillment percentages.
A repurchase window provides an opportunity to request liquidity. It does not guarantee that the full request will be fulfilled.
What Advisors Should Examine
The practical question is how the repurchase process fits a client’s potential need for cash. Advisors should examine the applicable offer documents, including deadlines, allocation procedures, payment timing, and the treatment of any unaccepted shares.
Repurchase demand and fulfillment also answer a different question from investment performance. These figures alone do not establish portfolio losses, credit quality, or the suitability of either fund.
