Mount Logan Capital announced that its subsidiary, Mount Logan Management, has entered into an agreement to become investment adviser to the AFA Asset Based Lending Fund, an interval fund with approximately $230 million in net assets as of September 30, 2026.
Upon closing, the fund would be renamed Mount Logan Asset Based Lending Fund and continue its focus on asset-based lending and specialty finance. Mount Logan said the transaction would bring its combined interval fund assets to approximately $460 million.
Closing is expected in Q1 2027, subject to shareholder and regulatory approvals. The proposed adviser change has not been completed.
Why We’re Watching
A proposed adviser change gives advisors a reason to revisit a fund’s management, investment sourcing, and oversight. Mount Logan expects its platform to expand the fund’s access to directly originated lending opportunities.
The forthcoming proxy materials should provide additional information for evaluating the transition, including the proposed investment management agreement and related shareholder considerations.
