BlackRock Private Credit Fund has appointed Jason Mehring as chief executive officer, chair of its board of trustees, and a trustee following the departure of Philip Tseng. The leadership changes became effective September 2, 2026.
Tseng resigned as the fund’s CEO, board chair, trustee, and co-chief investment officer effective August 31 to pursue other business opportunities outside BlackRock. The filing states that his departure did not result from a disagreement with the fund or BlackRock. He will remain a BlackRock employee through October 1 to assist with the transition.
Mehring previously served as the fund’s president and is a senior member of BlackRock’s Private Financing Solutions platform. He has more than 30 years of middle-market investing experience, including approximately 20 years with BlackRock, and helps oversee the investment process for the firm’s U.S. core middle-market direct-lending strategy.
The fund also named Dan Worrell president, moving him from his previous role as co-chief investment officer. Worrell is responsible for portfolio-management oversight within BlackRock’s core middle-market direct-lending strategy. Mehring, Worrell, Vikas Keswani, Michael Fenstermacher, and Grishma Parekh remain voting members of the fund’s investment committee following Tseng’s departure. The same leadership changes were implemented at BlackRock Direct Lending Corp. and BlackRock TCP Capital Corp.
