The Blue Vault Summit could not have been more perfectly timed. This gathering of the Broker Dealer and Sponsor communities provided insightful and open discussion from several vantage points. These conversations are paramount, especially in a time of significant regulatory change.

The 2nd Annual Blue Vault Broker Dealer Educational Summit was held April 11-14, 2016, at the Ritz-Carlton in downtown Atlanta. Registration was by invitation only.

We are excited that we were able to provide this opportunity to hear from industry-leading nontraded REIT and BDC sponsors as well as to dialogue and network with them.

New This Year

Event App

Blue Vault utilized an event app to provide the detailed agenda, venuemap, announcements, attendee list, speakers, surveys, and event documents.

Additionally, this year, attendees were be given the opportunity to provide feedback to Blue Vault during the Summit.  In some cases, feedback and/or answers to questions were tabulated and presented to the entire group in real-time, for convenience. A smart phone was all that was needed to participate and will help energize the discussion.  

Dine Arounds

Additionally, networking dine-arounds with Broker Dealers and Sponsors took place on the evening of Wednesday, April 13.

I have been in the financial services industry for 20 years and our firm provides an education platform that gets clients to “think differently” about their financial picture.  For many years we have communicated to clients the need to diversify their portfolios using alternative asset classes and more specifically, private non-traded investments.  Due diligence on these types of financial vehicles is essential and when I learned about Blue Vault in 2010, our firm immediately began using their material as a tool to build confidence in the minds of our advisors on which alternatives to recommend to clients.  I am impressed with the way Blue Vault continues to add value to their subscribers and I view their publication as a tremendous resource in today’s complex world.
