US Hotel Occupancy Stays at 50% in Week Ended October 17 – STR

U.S. hotel occupancy in the week ended Oct. 17 remained level with the previous week at 50.1%, according to the latest weekly data from STR, which tracks the hospitality industry.
Year over year, revenue per available room declined 50.3% to $48.91, while occupancy fell 30.7% to finish the week at 50.1%. Average daily rate decreased 28.3% to $97.69.
Of the top 25 markets, occupancy in Norfolk/Virginia Beach, Va., dropped slightly from the previous week to 53.7%, followed by San Diego and Phoenix at 53.5% and 52.9%, respectively.
Markets with the lowest occupancy levels included Oahu Island, Hawaii, at 20.0%; and Orlando, Fla., at 35.7%.
